For Luke, watching his students have fun and improve their skills is his everyday reward. “You always see potential in them, and with consistent effort over time, you watch them grow and improve” – Luke That’s what it takes to be Aintree’s best tennis coach—bringing out the rising star in every kid.
It’s this dedication that made Luke a finalist for Coach of the Year in 2022, highlighting his commitment to promoting tennis in Victoria and, most importantly, his dedication to our future champions. From an early age, tennis was more than just a sport for Luke. He used to play every day at his local club, working on his skills and nurturing a dream. “I really just love tennis. I was never a professional player, just a good local club player, that was just really passionate.”
Living locally with his young family, Luke appreciates the convenience of being close to work and enjoys spending quality time in the community’s beautiful parks and playground. He said the initial reason they moved to Woodlea is because it was close to work. “When we got there, we found all these beautiful parks and playgrounds and open spaces. The community is amazing, and we’ve got a great selection of parks and sporting infrastructure to choose from, so we can mix it up. Woodlea is home to 10 blue hard tennis courts. Located in Frontier Park.
Looking ahead, Luke aims to inspire even more people to pick up a racket, expand his coaching business to new locations, and grow interest in the rapidly rising sport of pickleball.
