A safer commute to Rockbank Train Station

As our Woodlea community continues to flourish, we are excited to announce the completion of the walking & cycle path to the recently renovated Rockbank Train Station, providing residents with a safer and easier way to travel.

Stretching 900-metres in length, the extension of the shared path runs adjacent to Leakes Road and reduces the existing commute for pedestrians and cyclists from Woodlea to the local train station to under 10 minutes.

The extension wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA), Department of Transport and Melton Council. With this assistance, Woodlea took the opportunity to fast track the first-of-a-kind project, so that residents could reap the benefits sooner rather than later.

Victoria Planning Authority (VPA) CEO Stuart Moseley said the VPA is grateful for Woodlea’s preparedness and flexibility in being able to achieve a project that will be of great benefit to the local community.

The recently renovated Rockbank Station is now equipped with two new longer platforms, a new pedestrian overpass, a 350-space car park, platform seating and canopies, secure bike storage, Myki facilities, lighting and CCTV.
