The Community Builders Program empowers residents to turn ideas into real community projects through mentoring, workshops, networking, and guidance on planning and funding.

  • One-on-one coaching

    Get guidance from experienced mentors who’ll help you shape and strengthen your idea.

  • Networking & introductions

    Connect with other community leaders, share ideas, and find partners who can help your project grow.

  • Project planning assistance

    Work with mentors to map out a clear, practical plan and roadmap tailored to your project.

  • Funding guidance

    Learn how to explore funding pathways and access potential seed funding for selected projects.

Various projects and initiatives are already taking shape:

We are already seeing this come to life across Woodlea, with residents leading initiatives that reflect the diversity and needs of the community. Together, these projects show how empowering local leaders can strengthen connections, foster a sense of belonging, and build a thriving community that is empowered to shape its own growth.

  • Neighbourly Table

    Led by the Woodlea Islamic Network, this project provides hot meals to people in need in Melton each week.

  • Aintree Children’s Academy Enrichment Programs

    Activities including chess, arts, public speaking and more, helping children learn, connect and grow.

  • Community-led ANZAC Commemorative Service

    A resident-led service bringing the community together in reflection, unity and remembrance.

This program is open to anyone with a vision to bring people together – whether you’re part of a club, school, community group, or simply an individual with a great idea.

  • A sports club championing girls in sport.
  • A youth collective starting a podcast.
  • A neighbourhood garden project building greener streets.
  • A parents’ hub creating toy swaps and playgroups.
  • A multicultural group celebrating the “Stories of Woodlea.”
