HUMANS OF WOODLEA

Amit & Swati

A duo defined by humble beginnings and service

Amit & Swati are helping shape our community through Amit’s frontline service, Swati’s ongoing commitment to healthcare and their joint founding of a youth venture – Aintree Children’s Academy.

A Journey Rooted in Service

Amit and Swati’s journey in community-oriented work began during their university years, long before Woodlea became their home. They each spent time volunteering for causes close to their hearts, not as a requirement, but by choice.

After settling in Woodlea nearly nine years ago, their intention to give back to the community deepened with time, with the small acts gradually growing into a steady commitment to service.

Their journey unfolds across three avenues — a shared youth venture, Amit’s continued service through emergency services organisations, and Swati’s evolving work in healthcare initiatives. Three paths, one purpose: to uplift others

Aintree Children’s Academy: Every Child Has Potential

Guided by their shared belief in the transformative power of knowledge, Amit & Swati founded Aintree Children’s Academy — a boutique space designed for young people to learn and flourish with genuine guidance and meaningful opportunities.

The Academy offers Enrichment Programs through specialty workshops, school holiday programs and year‑round offerings in Chess, Public Speaking and the Arts. Each program is thoughtfully designed to strengthen intellect, creativity, communication, critical thinking, emotional resilience, and community spirit and connection.

Amit have Swati have kept the Academy boutique, prioritising purpose over scale, while allowing growth through meaningful pathways. Success is measured not by numbers, but by outcomes experienced by every child who is part of the Academy’s programs.

The Academy was selected as the Finalist for Outstanding Small Business in The Local Business Awards for 2026 – a recognition of its intention and impact.

“When children are encouraged to embrace learning with the freedom to make mistakes, their development unfolds with ease, authenticity and self‑trust.”

Service, Leadership & Community Impact

An aerospace engineer by profession, Amit has spent years volunteering across organisations that strengthen community connection. His service spans the CFA as a firefighter, SES as a unit member, Aintree Scouts as a Joey Leader, and a volunteer at the Make‑A‑Wish Foundation.

Each role has shaped his belief that strong communities are built when people feel supported, included and safe, and that every act of support, no matter how small, creates a ripple of positive change.

His dedication was recently recognised when he was named Intercultural Engagement Leader of the Year at Melton City Council’s Community Volunteer Achievement Awards — a testament to his consistent commitment to helping others.

Dedication to the Cause of Health

For Swati, service is rooted in her lifelong purpose in healthcare and medicine. Actively involved in the Australian healthcare system at the forefront of clinical medicine, she sees how chronic conditions affect individuals and families, and the role mainstream medicine plays.

She believes deeply in an integrative, knowledge‑based approach to health — combining simplified science with personalised guidance that helps people understand their own bodies, navigate barriers and achieve positive, long-sustained health outcomes.

While her journey continues, she hopes to make health literacy and personalised health solutions accessible to individuals highly committed to improving their health status.

A Shared Commitment to Community

Though their professional paths differ, Amit and Swati’s individual journeys form a single, cohesive story — one rooted in education, service and the desire to uplift others.

“For us, community isn’t defined by the physical surroundings or the people alone, but by the spirit woven by all those who choose to invest in the welfare of others around them — through small, purposeful acts of service, that do not expect fanfare or spectacle,” they say.

With their two beautiful children by their side, they continue to invest in the future of the Woodlea community they proudly call home, guided by the same ideals that shaped their beginnings: humility and service.
