A New Chapter for RDAV at Woodlea The Riding for the Disabled Association of Victoria (RDAV) will relocate its long-standing Aintree facility to a new purpose-built centre in Bonnie Brook, within the Woodlea community. Backed by Woodlea and project consultants Urbis, the move will allow RDAV to expand its equine-based programs for children and adults living with disabilities. Construction is expected to begin soon, with the new centre scheduled to open in early 2026.
A Place Where More People Can Thrive The new centre has been designed with inclusivity in mind and will feature a sensory garden to help participants build confidence before riding. As part of RDAV’s Unmounted Equine Program, the garden will also support learning around food production, composting, and horse care. Woodlea is incredibly proud to continue supporting RDAV through this new project, after having developed the current Aintree facility that has served the community for the past decade.
Supporting Riders, Families, and Future Professionals Volunteers like Margaret Behan, who has supported Melton RDA for more than 30 years, say the upgraded facility will make a significant difference, providing more space, accessibility, and opportunities for riders and families. This move will also help RDAV continue key partnerships, including its collaboration with Melbourne University to give veterinary students hands-on experience. Find out more about RDAV HERE.
