A chat with Woodlea's winner Carmen and her husband Tony were extremely shocked when they opened their front door and saw that they were the winners. “It was amazing, we opened our front door and there were balloons and a massive cheque right there! We were immediately jumping up and down, absolutely over the moon,” Carmen said of the moment they found out they had won. The May family’s inspiration for their garden was based on what would match their house best. “We went with a Woodlands themed garden as it matches the facade of our house the best. I have to give my husband credit, Tony would be out in the garden every weekend pruning trees and bushes, cutting the grass and edging.”
When asked how they’re going to spend the money, Carmen said her and her family will be booking flights to the United Kingdom. “Every few years my husband travels back to the UK to visit his father. There have been lots of teary phone calls throughout the pandemic with him not being able to see his aging father, now 84. Now having won the money, we are definitely going to book flights to visit this year with our daughter.” “We would like to say a big thank you to Woodlea and Eat Grow Garden, we loved receiving the tips and tricks and encouragement along the way.” Congratulations to Carmen and Tony on their fantastic efforts!
