Aintree Cafe & Garden: More than a Cafe

After nearly four years of operation, we’re sad to see Go West Cafe and Eatery close its doors to pursue other opportunities in the big smoke of inner Melbourne. This transition has provided us with the chance to welcome a not-for-profit social enterprise cafe, which will be known as Aintree Cafe and Garden.

More than just a cafe, all profits from the cafe will be filtered back into the local community through their parent organisation, We Love Aintree. We Love Aintree purely exists to connect neighbours, engage with the community, and support local businesses in Aintree, Rockbank and surrounding suburbs.

Local lovin’
Aintree Cafe and Garden will serve fresh, seasonal produce that is locally and ethically sourced, paired with high quality, organic, fair trade and locally roasted coffee.

As part of the cafe’s commitment to sourcing as much local produce as possible, they source food farmed from the surrounding region, in addition to growing some of their own greens, seasonal veg, and herbs at the Aintree Community Garden.

With the vision to strengthen the local community, the cafe will host both paid staff and volunteers, as well as plenty of passionate individuals who offer their help in the community garden.

The multipurpose venue will be hosting events, supporting community groups, and generally doing anything to connect neighbours and promote neighbourliness.

So, where does the profit go?
100 per cent of the profits will go back into the local area, so every time you buy a coffee or make a purchase, you’ll be supporting things like playgroup, the community garden and local sporting clubs.

We Love Aintree believes that people who are connected locally are healthier, happier, and safer. They’ll achieve this by creating spaces and events for people to connect with their local community, empowering local people to use their passions and interests to build a spirit of connectivity.

Every time you pop by Aintree Cafe and Garden, you’ll be investing in more than just Melbourne’s cafe culture; you’re investing in the idea of togetherness and support.

We look forward to seeing this cafe flourish and can’t wait to see them open their doors this Saturday 31st August. In the meantime, a pop-up coffee cart will look after your caffeine needs from Monday 26th to Friday 30th August.
