Beat the winter blues with these fun-filled winter school holiday events

While the cold winter weather is enough to make anyone retreat indoors, we have four boredom busters to cure the winter blues for your children these holidays. Head into the city via the train from Caroline Springs Station or stay local and enjoy everything Melbourne’s West has to offer these school holidays.

Create works of art at the National Gallery of Victoria

Take a trip into Melbourne’s CBD and visit the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) taking in eye catching exhibits that will be sure to entertain the kids.

Until Sunday 14 July, Alexander Calder’s workshop for littlies will provide your young ones with an abundance of fun with a variety of activities.

Inspired by Alexander’s work of art, the workshop space represents elements of his childhood including constructing cardboard animals and creating digital sculptures through a multimedia interactive touch screen.

Get your ice skates on and head to The Winter Village at Federation Square

There’s a golden ticket at The Winter Village these winter school holidays!

Teaming up with Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical (now showing in Melbourne), The Winter Village is giving one lucky winner the chance to see the show!

Throughout the school holidays, The Winter Village will also include crazy Wonka-inspired treats such as Candy Fizz drink upgrades with any pre-booked igloo. Just don’t forget to include the keyword ‘WONKA’ when booking online.

There will also be free ice skating show bags for children between 3-14 years old for pre-booked skate sessions.

Located at Federation Square’s Skyline Terrace, The Winter Village is a one stop shop for entertainment these winter school holidays.
