Aintree Community Events

The Aintree Community Garden is located next to the Go-West Cafe, at the rear of the Woodlea Sales Centre. There are many community events, workshops, and opportunities to connect with friends and neighbours each and every month. Check out some of the things going on in the month of July and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram, or sign up for our monthly newsletter.

August Events

ACG Membership

Interested in becoming part of The ACG? Members are required to attend regular working bees, assist in the
planning of future crops, and are able to harvest and eat fresh produce. Membership costs $20/year which helps us buy seeds/seedlings for future planning. Contact ACG co-ordinator on the email below.

Neighbourhood Pizza Night

Each month, on the third Saturday, the ACG hosts a Neighbourhood Pizza Night. This is a casual, family
friendly evening of wood-fired pizza and drinks in the garden. Pizza is provided, but you can contribute with extra food and drinks for the community esky. The next Pizza Nights are Saturday August 18 and September 22, both from 4.30pm.

Working Bees and Workshops

Each month, we host 1-2 working bees where neighbours join together and tend the garden. Typically they occur on a Sunday afternoon each fortnight. The next Working Bees are Sunday 29 July and 16 September, both from 3pm.

Workshops occur each quarter with the Spring Workshop set to be about Indoor Plants (date to be confirmed).

Friday Night Happy Hour

Typically, at the beginning of each month through winter, the ACG will host a Neighbourhood Friday Night Happy Hour. BYO drinks, or contribute and take from the Community Esky. Friday August 3 and September 7 are the upcoming Happy Hour events.
